Respect • Development • Teamwork

At Rustington FC Youth, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful and enjoyable environment for every player, coach, parent and supporter involved with the club.

We ask all members of the club community to support the following standards and values.

Players

All players are expected to:

  • Show respect to teammates, coaches, opponents, referees and supporters
  • Attend training and matches with a positive attitude and willingness to learn
  • Play fairly and honestly at all times
  • Listen to coaches and behave appropriately during training and matches
  • Wear the correct kit and equipment
  • Encourage teammates and help create a positive team environment
  • Represent Rustington FC Youth with pride both on and off the pitch

Bullying, discrimination, abusive language or poor behaviour will not be tolerated.


Parents & Supporters

We ask all parents and supporters to:

  • Encourage all players positively from the sidelines
  • Respect coaches, referees, opposition players and supporters
  • Allow coaches to manage the team during matches and training
  • Avoid coaching players from the sidelines
  • Support the club’s values of respect, teamwork and sportsmanship
  • Ensure players arrive on time and ready for training and matches
  • Communicate respectfully with club officials and volunteers

We operate a “Positive Sidelines” approach and expect behaviour that supports player development and enjoyment.


Coaches & Volunteers

All coaches and volunteers will:

  • Put the welfare and development of players first
  • Create a safe, inclusive and positive environment
  • Treat all players fairly and with respect
  • Promote good sportsmanship and discipline
  • Lead by example both on and off the pitch
  • Follow FA safeguarding and welfare guidelines at all times

Respect

Rustington FC Youth fully supports The FA Respect campaign.

We believe football should be:

  • Safe
  • Inclusive
  • Enjoyable
  • Competitive in the right way
  • Built on mutual respect

Any behaviour that brings the club into disrepute may result in disciplinary action.

By being part of Rustington FC Youth, all players, parents, coaches and supporters agree to uphold these standards and help create the best possible environment for young players to develop and enjoy football.
